The Taste of Britain Curry Festival is set to take place in Slovenia next month.

The annual event, organised and run by UK based Curry Life Magazine, will see Altaf Hussain, master chef at Yuva Fine Fusion of Old North Road, Kneesworth and awarded curry chef, show off his skills at the festival.

30 years ago Britain’s high streets met curry with scepticism and suspicion, they didn’t know that curry had arrived to stay and to dramatically change the culture of food in this country. Curry houses brought the British out of their homes to eat, changing the way we think about restaurants; dining out wasn’t only for an occasion anymore, it became something we could do midweek because it was affordable.

As we announced last week, the “Curry Oscars” – as Prime Minister David Cameron refers to them – were celebrated last Monday 25th of November with a fabulous ceremony hosted by TV presenter Chris Tarrant and attended by chefs such as James Martin, top celebrities and politicians alike.

The countdown to the 9th annual British Curry Awards is now on. They will take place next Monday 25th November at The Battersea Evolution in London. This year will be bigger and better than ever with a new theme promised and a spectacular show being developed by director and producer, Justine Ali, who said “This year we are pulling out all the stops. It is something you will not want to miss”.
