On a recent weekend visit to Ripon, we had the pleasure of stumbling across Realitea just off the main square in the town centre. Ready for a spot of lunch, we headed in to explore and it was an absolute delight.

With a huge menu of speciality teas as well as coffees and soft drinks this is very much a tea room with an Indian twist. We opted for two of the brunches and two cups of tea. My murgh brunch comprised a chicken curry with paratha flatbread dahi, salad & seva mix.

For me this is almost the perfect lunch. Tasty, nicely presented and enough to fill you up. When coupled with a pot of tea, it ticks all of my wish list boxes.

We didn’t try any of their cakes on this visit but look forward to giving them a try next time we are in the area. We don’t live close enough to take part in one of their Dhaba evenings but are sure these will be well worth a try.

It’s only a small tea room and was busy when we got there. The decor has a Yorkshire / Mumbai feel and they appeared to do some takeaway meals although I’m not sure if this was a favour for a regular or an option for all.

Opening times are 10 am until 3 pm, Tuesday to Saturday and you can find out more on their website riponrealitea.co.uk

As ever I want to point out we paid for our meal, have no connection with this venue and they did not know we were visting or reviewing them.
