Kingfisher Drinks, the premium world beer and cider company, is delighted to announce the launch of Kingfisher 1857 specifically designed for the 6,000 Indian, Bangladeshi, Pakistani and Sri Lankan restaurants that make up the British Curry Channel. This new lower ABV version of Kingfisher Premium will be available from October onwards at an extremely competitive RWP of just £128 per 50 litre keg.
The last few years have certainly proved challenging for the British Curry Channel with costs continuing to rise, frequent staff shortages and the fact that many consumers are going out less often and drinking less when they do. As a result, some restaurants are finding it increasingly hard to stay open. This was front of mind when the company decided to develop this new variant which provides curry restaurants with a price-friendly lager that still has the quality and authenticity of Kingfisher.
Kingfisher 1857 celebrates the brand’s history and heritage with the name coming from the year that the iconic Indian beer company, United Breweries, began brewing its most famous brand. The liquid has been crafted to deliver a taste that Kingfisher drinkers will love but to a lower ABV of 3.4%. Smooth, crisp and refreshing, it’s a beer that carries history in every sip.
Shaun Goode, Chief Operating Officer at Kingfisher Drinks, comments, “Sometimes you bring a new product to market that clearly meets the needs of both the trade and consumers, Kingfisher 1857 is exactly that. The product was developed for a price-sensitive segment of the market, but we also know lower ABV lagers are in growth as an increasing number of UK drinkers are proactively seeking low alcohol or no alcohol beer.”
Kingfisher 1857 is the latest welcome addition to a brand portfolio which also includes the original Kingfisher Premium, Kingfisher Ultra and Kingfisher Zero, not to mention craft pale ale, Bombay Bicycle IPA, offering the British Curry Channel a solution for every segment and drinking occasion.
